You may remember that during the last lockdown, a service called “Studyclix” was made available to all of our students for their own personal access and study. I have once again bought a licence to make this available to all of our students for this year.

This is a fantastic resource through which students can access past examination papers, model answers to questions, quizzes on every topic in every subject, trivia, crosswords, notes on every topic, videos etc. The access code for students of Selskar College has been sent by email to all students and will be issued to parents via SMS text message. I encourage every student to avail of this facility for independent learning to support their classwork. Please remind and encourage your son/daughter to use this facility.

Digital Library

The digital library is also still available to all students in Selskar College and we encourage all of our students to read at least twice a week all year round whether having face-to-face classes or online.

Leaving Certificate students who have been availing of online grinds through our Jumpagrade platform are also being encouraged to continue with these during lockdown.

SNA Supports

Finally, I would ask all parent/guardians of students who are availing of SNA support to please check that they are responding to all communication from SNAs. There have been a number of communications either turned off or ignored to date and this is the only means by which their SNAs can maintain contact with them and support them during lockdown. SNAs will be contacting the students that they support each day and need to have two way communication for it to be effective.

Online Learning

Online classes are progressing well and students are very much engaging. This engagement is extremely important in order for all of our students to progress with their learning. Please encourage and support this engagement by giving your son/daughter a space in which to work and study and support and guidance when needed.
